Hall Green Primary - Big Sleuth Bear

The Partnership Group sponsored Hall Green Primary School to enable the children to be involved in the wider West Midlands initiative. It provided educational opportunities for primary school children to learn about the endangered Sun Bear species and the south Asian culture.

The project encouraged schools, community groups and young people to get imaginative and decorate a sun bear taking inspiration from local history. The school decorated it, and in the summer it formed part of an advertised bear trail encouraging people to visit different parts of the West Midlands.  The bear is then be returned to the school.

Pupils were involved in developing the theme and decoration of the bear.  The school provided the support and materials and expertise to produce the final design to decorate the bear.
